The Crazy Cats were a five-piece band from Lausanne, Switzerland, formed by Eddie on vocals and rhythm guitar, Ron on lead guitar, Eddy on slap bass, Danny on drums, and Marco on piano (although barely audible on the recordings.) The band was signed by Magnum Force after a storming set at the Caister Rock’n’Roll Weekend. The result was this four-track EP.
It consists of three covers and one original. Their arrangement of Johnny Burnette’s Sweet Love On My Mind is very close to the wild rendition the Stray Cats played during the same period and released on the B-side of one of their early single. The other two covers are borrowed from Charlie Feather’s catalog. One Hand Loose is frantic and energetic, whereas Tongue Tied Jill is more traditional sounding. But the best tune of this Ep is the band’s Ghost In A White Cadillac, a creepy and menacing tune, bordering on Psychobilly.
