The Saddle Sores – I’m Over Bein’ Sober Over You

I’m Over Bein’ Sober Over You / Sweet Tooth Baby
The Saddle Sores are basically the Jerrells (Jeremy Slemenda on guitar and vocals, Chris Crepps on bass, Massimo Gerosa on piano, and John McGlothlin on percussion) with Heather Rae Johnson on fiddle and vocals and Dave Biller on steel guitar. Like the latest Jerrells single, it was recorded at Fort Horton by Billy Horton, and once again, the talented Chris Wilkinson designed the cover.
But when the Jerrells play Rockabilly, the Saddle Sores are pure Hillbilly bop and Western swing.
Heather Ray takes the lead vocals on the swinging’ I’m Over Bein’ Sober Over You (penned by Slemenda, as is the B-side). It contains all the elements that make a good Western swing tune: twin guitars, swinging vocals, and hot solos from each player.
The B-side is a bouncing Hillbilly Bop number sung by Slemenda. Once again each musician takes his turn to the front to play a brief albeit great solo.
